How many participants per Zoom meeting?

The number of people who can participate in a session depends on your type of subscription.
Up to 100 participants can participate in a free Zoom meeting. This limitation also applies to the “Pro” plan. For the other plans there is a limit of three hundred participants. When 100/300 participants are not enough, you can buy an extra option for paying subscriptions where your limit will be increased to 1000 participants.

How long can a Zoom meeting be?

The number of people who can participate in a session depends on your type of subscription.

How much does Zoom cost?

Zoom offers various subscriptions. We’ll assume that you are interested in their most popular product, the online meetings.

First, there is the free plan. This allows you to hold meetings of unlimited lenght with two people. For meetings with 3-100 people there is a time limit of 40 minutes, after which the meeting ends.

In addition, you have paying plans of € 139.90, € 189.90 and € 326 per year respectively. The € 139.90 plan is sufficient for most people.

In theory, you can keep restarting the meeting when using a free subscription. However, you’ll notice that this becomes frustrating really fast.

How many Zoom licenses do I need?

You need at least one license per simultaneous meeting you plan to hold. If you only plan to organize one meeting at the same time with your account, that means you’ll only need one license. When you start the meeting with the licensed account, you can invite co-hosts to manage the meeting. These co-hosts don’t need their own license.

This means you can start with a single license and expand your licenses later, should you want to host more meetings at the same time.

How many people can be on the screen at once?

By default, Zoom shows one person, namely the person speaking. The host can also “pin” multiple people so that they can be seen together by everyone. You can also pin one person yourself, who remains on screen regardless of who is speaking. You cannot pin more than one person yourself.

You can see the video of several people at the same time using the “Gallery”. The number of people you see at once differs. This is partly determined by the version of Zoom you are using, but also by the size of your screen. You cannot determine how many screens you will see in the “Gallery”.
